How to get Sixt status

Sixt spreads its status matches across two tiers, Gold and Platinum, with sixteen paths in altogether. Fourteen of those are status matches, and all of them are free and work globally, with no region split to track. The easiest way into Gold is holding elite status somewhere else already: Hertz Gold Plus Rewards, Avis Preferred, and Avis Preferred Plus all match straight across, as does Lufthansa Miles & More Frequent Traveller status and Accor ALL Gold.

Each of those Gold matches works the same way: your Sixt status itself never expires once granted, and Sixt guarantees the upgraded benefits for the first 12 months. After that, you keep the upgrade by renting with Sixt 10 times in a year if you're in the US, Belgium, Spain, France, the UK, Luxembourg, or the Netherlands, or 20 times in a year everywhere else.

Platinum draws from a wider set of feeder programs, and the match rules carry over unchanged. Avis President's Club, Hertz Five Star, and Hertz President's Circle all match across from the car-rental side, along with Enterprise Plus Platinum and both National Emerald Club Executive tiers (Executive and Executive Elite). On the airline and hotel side, Delta SkyMiles Platinum Medallion status matches in, and so does Marriott Bonvoy at either Platinum Elite or Titanium Elite. As with Gold, the first year of Platinum benefits from a match is guaranteed automatically, then needs renewing through rental volume to stick.

In the US, two credit cards reach Platinum through a different mechanism entirely: Citi Prestige and the Citi / AAdvantage Executive card both confer it through the World Elite Mastercard Travel & Lifestyle Services car-rental program, which requires registering by phone with a Mastercard travel advisor rather than any rental history. Citi Prestige has been closed to new applicants since 2021, so that route only works if you already hold the card.
