Sixt Gold has five free entry points, and none of them require ever renting from Sixt first — they're all elite-status matches from partner programs. Hertz Gold Plus Rewards,
Avis Preferred, Avis Preferred Plus,
Lufthansa Miles & More Frequent Traveller, and
Accor ALL Gold all convert straight into Sixt Gold. The status itself never expires, but the upgrade benefits that make Gold worth holding are only guaranteed for the first 12 months — after that, keeping them means 10 rentals a year if you're in the US, Belgium, Spain, France, the UK, Luxembourg, or the Netherlands, or 20 rentals a year everywhere else.
Platinum runs on the same mechanism, just pulled from a higher tier on each partner side. Avis President's Club, Hertz Five Star or President's Circle, Enterprise Plus Platinum,
National Emerald Club Executive or Executive Elite,
Delta SkyMiles Platinum Medallion, and
Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite or Titanium Elite all match directly into Sixt Platinum, with the same terms as Gold: the status doesn't lapse, but the 12-month upgrade window resets and then depends on hitting the same rental-count thresholds to keep the perks flowing. If you're already carrying elite status in any of these rental, airline, or hotel programs, there's no reason to earn Sixt status from scratch — the match is instant and costs nothing either way. Between the two tiers, which one you land depends entirely on how high your existing status ranks with its own program; there's no free or discounted path that jumps you from Gold-level status into Platinum without already holding a Platinum-equivalent tier elsewhere.
