What United MileagePlus unlocks

Most of what Premier 1K status reaches beyond United itself takes a challenge, a spend threshold, or a redemption — the four core airline matches don't. Alaska Atmos grants Gold status to US members holding United Premier Gold, and Southwest Rapid Rewards runs the same US-only chart from Premier Silver into A-List. American AAdvantage matches Premier 1K straight into Executive Platinum, its top tier, and Delta SkyMiles gives Premier Platinum holders 90 days of complimentary Platinum Medallion status, extendable through January 2028 for $3,750 in MQD spend during that window.

That same Delta Platinum match extends one hop further into JetBlue TrueBlue's Mosaic 2 tier, so claiming it nets you two airlines' status at once. On the rental side, Premier Gold matches into National Emerald Club's Executive Elite, a single free step that then forks three ways at no cost: Hertz President's Circle, Avis President's Club, and Sixt Platinum. The National match also extends one hop further, through Hertz, into Enterprise Plus's Platinum tier — the reference below maps that chain hop by hop.

The slower route runs through American AAdvantage's own Platinum tier (a step below the Executive Platinum above it), which Premier Gold also matches into — but keeping it means earning 25,000 AAdvantage Loyalty Points every four months. Redeem roughly 100,000 of those Loyalty Points and AAdvantage will award Hyatt Discoverist status, which in turn opens free matches into Best Western Rewards Platinum and, separately, MSC Voyagers Club Silver — itself good for one more match into Explora Club Silver on Explora Journeys. It's a long chain for hotel and cruise status that most 1K flyers won't need, but every hop is documented below.
