What Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant Amex unlocks

Holding the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant Amex already gets you to Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite: the US card confers the tier automatically for as long as you keep it, plus 25 Elite Night Credits a year. That single status is the springboard for nearly everything else reachable from this card.

From Platinum, Choice Privileges will match you to its own Platinum tier - a once-per-lifetime move whose window depends on timing: apply January through June and it only covers the current year, apply July through December and it carries into the next year too. Wyndham Rewards runs a similar free match straight to Diamond, good for 90 days and extendable with 10 qualifying nights. The same Platinum status also earns a one-time match into Hilton Honors Gold, which itself opens a further match into National Emerald Club Executive Elite - the reference below covers each leg.

On the car side, that Platinum status matches into Sixt Platinum, which carries forward into Avis President's Club - no fee, though it needs emailed proof and lasts about a year. From there, one branch reaches Enterprise Plus Platinum, kept only by logging 24 rentals or 85 rental days a year. The other reaches Hertz President's Circle, a match capped at once every five years and valid only through the end of the second calendar year after approval. A separate two-step route runs through MSC Voyagers Club Gold into Explora Club Gold, each match usable once per lifetime.

One upgrade is worth flagging as uncertain: Choice can bump that Platinum match up to Diamond after one qualifying night at a Cambria hotel, though 2026 reports say this bump may no longer be honored even as Choice's own page still lists it.
