If you already hold elite status with Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, Marriott, Wyndham, or Best Western, you're one step from Choice Privileges Platinum — a free, one-time status match covers all of them, in both the US and Canada. Hilton Gold, Hyatt Globalist, IHG Platinum Elite, Wyndham Diamond, Best Western Diamond, and any of Marriott's three elite tiers (Gold, Platinum, or Titanium) all qualify. There's no path to the entry-level Gold tier on Choice's chart — every match on offer jumps straight to Platinum, whatever tier you're matching from.
That cap is the thing to know before you use this: a Hyatt Globalist and a Marriott Gold Elite member land at exactly the same place, Platinum, so there's no reason to sit on a higher-tier status hoping for a better result. The match itself is a once-per-member-per-lifetime move, and the timing of your submission decides how long the resulting status runs — apply between January and June and it's good for the current year only, apply July through December and it carries into the following year too. Since it only costs an email with proof of your other-program status, it's the obvious route if you're already elite anywhere on that list.
Going further, to Diamond, is murkier. Marriott Platinum Elite members who complete the base match to Choice Platinum can reportedly follow it with one qualifying night at a Cambria hotel and email proof to get bumped to Diamond. Choice's own site and AwardWallet still describe this step, but community reports from early 2026 say it's stopped working — worth confirming before you count on it rather than treating Platinum as the real ceiling.
