What IHG One Rewards unlocks

Most of what IHG One Rewards status unlocks only takes Platinum Elite; the one exception is the Hilton Honors match, which requires Diamond Elite, IHG's top tier. With Platinum Elite alone, you can match straight into Choice Privileges Platinum — free, but limited to the US and Canada.

The Hilton Honors match works worldwide once you hold Diamond Elite: it hands you Hilton Gold instantly for 90 days, with a 12-night stay challenge open to push it up to Diamond. Both this match and the Choice match are once-per-lifetime moves, not something to spend on a status you'd earn anyway.

Car rental status runs through one shared move: matching Platinum Elite into National Emerald Club Executive Elite in the US and Canada. From there it forks — a further match turns that into Avis President's Club, and a separate one turns it into Sixt Platinum. A third route matches through Hertz President's Circle on the way to Enterprise Plus Platinum; rental programs commonly match each other's tiers directly, so crossing brands here isn't unusual, and the full chain is mapped in the reference below.
