How to get Leaders Club (LHW) status

If you already hold the US Amex Platinum or the US Amex Business Platinum, you're effectively already in Leaders Club Sterling — both cards confer it complimentary as soon as you enroll, with no minimum spend or waiting period attached.

Sterling is the only tier on offer, and these two cards are the only paths into it. There's no meaningful difference between them for this purpose: either one gets you Sterling the same way, so it comes down to which card you'd carry anyway rather than which gets you status faster. There's no conditional or challenge route here — it's one of these two cards, or you don't get Sterling.
