card · starting from cardholder · unlocks 4 programs (4 free)
The fastest way from the Venture X into car-rental status is automatic: enroll the card through Capital One and, in the US, you land at Hertz President's Circle, the top tier of Hertz's program. As of September 2024 that status is permanent — no annual renewal, no spend threshold to maintain it.
That Hertz tier doubles as a launching pad for three more matches. Avis will match your Hertz President's Circle proof to its own President's Club, but the match only holds for about a year before Avis wants an estimated 20 rentals or $6,000 in US spend to keep you there.
Enterprise Plus runs a similar match to Platinum, open in both the US and Canada, and renews as long as you hit 24 rentals or 85 rental days a year.
Sixt's Platinum match is the least demanding of the three: submit the same Hertz proof and the status doesn't expire.
None of these matches cost money, just paperwork, so the real decision is whether you'll rent enough to justify holding onto Avis or Enterprise status once the free year runs out. If you don't already rent from those brands, the permanent Hertz tier from the card alone is the one worth keeping.
