What Capital One Spark Miles unlocks

If you already hold the Capital One Spark Miles card, you're one step from Hertz Five Star status — Capital One makes it complimentary once you enroll through the Benefits tab, for US cardholders. The card was renamed on April 14, 2026, but current Spark Miles holders keep the Five Star eligibility.

From there, the routes fork. The short one runs Five Star into Sixt Platinum, a status that doesn't expire, and Sixt Platinum can then be matched into Avis President's Club by emailing proof to Avis — a match that holds for about a year before it needs renewing. The longer fork carries Five Star into Avis Preferred Plus, then on to Hertz President's Circle and finally Enterprise Plus Platinum in the US and Canada; the reference below lays out every hop and renewal window along that chain.

The longer fork's catch is volume: getting from Avis Preferred Plus to Hertz President's Circle takes 25 or more rentals in a year, and that match can only be claimed once every five years. If you're not renting at that pace, the Sixt-to-Avis fork is the better deal — it asks nothing beyond the two matches themselves.
